Where to find me and how paying for care works
I see private patients at The Blackheath Hospital in south-east London. Whether you are paying for your own care or using private medical insurance, this page explains what to expect, so there are no surprises on the day.

Paying for yourself
Self-pay fees, explained simply
Your fee is confirmed when you book, so you know the cost before you come in. If you would like a quote first, simply get in touch with the practice and we will tell you what your appointment or procedure will cost.
Second opinion package
The all-inclusive second opinion package is for self-paying patients only, and there is no additional cost for diagnostics within it.
What the second opinion includesRetrieving your records
If we need to request your medical records from your GP or a hospital, there is an admin fee of £50 per provider. Sending us copies yourself avoids this.
New results after a second opinion
If significant new diagnostic results need reviewing after your second opinion, this is charged as a follow-up consultation at £100.
Would you like a quote before you book? Get in touch with the practice.
Using insurance
If you have private medical insurance
I see both self-paying and insured patients. If your care is covered by insurance, a few simple steps before your appointment will help everything run smoothly.
Ask a question about cover-
1
Check your cover
Contact your insurer to confirm that your policy covers a haematology consultation and any tests or procedures you may need.
-
2
Get an authorisation code
Ask your insurer for an authorisation code before your appointment, so your visit can be billed to them directly.
-
3
Bring your details with you
On the day, please bring your policy details and your authorisation code.
